Prerequisite: Matriculated in the dance major or minor This course will be an investigation of the basic science and compositional theory of dance as an art form. Dance education concentration students and minors will study human anatomy and biomechanics of dance to become knowledgeable about safe and efficient movement in dance. Students will learn the basic theories of dance composition, including investigations of movement, space, force and time as a foundation for choreography. Students will employ this knowledge in short compositions and in critical analysis for dance as an art form. Offered fall semester.
