Prerequisite: PHYS 243 and PHYS 244 with a minimum grade of "C-" This course takes a foundational approach to the mathematical and theoretical ideas of both relativity and quantum mechanics. The course focuses on the historical and intellectual developments that shaped modern physics, emphasizing scientific inquiry and critical thinking.聽The modern physics theories are applied in applications of atomic, condensed matter/solid state, nuclear, and particle physics.
