Prerequisite: Placement into MATH 122E or higher Students will develop the mathematical skills needed to be successful in the first two semesters of physics and engineering courses, including a working knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, vectors, complex numbers, graphing, data analysis, derivatives and integrals. Assigned problems align with the topics in introductory physics and engineering courses. Students will become familiar with the research conducted by members of the department faculty and understand what it means to be a professional physicist or engineer, the experiences of others in this field, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion issues in this field. Offered fall semester.
