Prerequisite: PHYS 244 with a minimum grade of "C-"' Corequisite: PHOE 301L This course is an introduction to the basic principles of photonics and optical engineering. Students will become familiar with the fundamental properties of light in theory and, through experiments, learn to conduct careful measurements of light and optical devices, and begin to understand basic photonics and optical engineering principles. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory weekly. Offered fall semester.
