Prerequisite: Any GEOG course or consent of instructor Environmental Justice is the broad term encompassing the human impacts on the natural environment and what disproportionate affect those decisions may have on disadvantaged populations. This course reviews the evolution of the environmental racism movement of the 1970s into the broader environmental/social justice framework with a civil rights foundation. Students will explore how environmental justice is defined and the problems of location analysis connected to environmental justice claims. Offered alternate years.
