Prerequisite: ARTH 103 or ARTH 104 or a 200-level art history (ARTH) course Major developments in the visual arts are examined from 1850 to 1940. Attention is given to the theoretical foundations for these modern artistic movements as well as their stylistic distinctions. Museum visits are required, including a trip to New York City. Offered each year.
