Prerequisite: PSYC 201 with a minimum grade of "C"; and PSYC 304 with a minimum grade of "C" or PSYC 320 with a minimum grade of "C"; and PSYC 342; and three of the following: PSYC 310, PSYC 336, PSYC 352, PSYC 370; or consent of instructor This course focuses on the study of the neural processes underlying human cognition and perception. How does the brain's neural organization and functional connectivity give rise to human cognitive and perceptual abilities, such as sensory perception, learning, attentional regulation, memory, language, music and emotions? This question is addressed in the context of cognitive neuroscience research, which makes use of varied methodologies, including single cell recordings, animal models, brain imaging techniques and patient studies.
