Prerequisite: Admission to the Professional Education Program; and SPED 202 with a minimum grade of "B-" or SPED 211 with a minimum grade of "B-" This course is designed to develop an understanding of safe physical and intellectual learning environments and teaching techniques for behavior management of students with disabilities. Included in this course is performing Functional Behavioral Assessment and designing Behavior Intervention Plans. A field-based pre-practicum experience of approximately 20-25 hours is required at the level of license sought: PreK-8, 5-12 or Severe Disabilities (ages 3-21). Offered fall, spring, summer.
